Our Ashgrove Podiatrists Services

At The Feet People we treat a wide range of different conditions that are linked to the feet, ankle and lower limbs. Below are some of the podiatry services we offer.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a treatment that delivers shockwaves to tissues to help treat pain and restore mobility. It works by sending a high-energy acoustic wave to tissues with chronic conditions. These acoustic waves stimulate a regenerative action in the tissue and encourage recovery in the area. Shockwave therapy is commonly used to treat plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, as well as other conditions of the foot and ankle.

PACT

PACT is a form of Photodynamic therapy that targets fungal conditions. When it comes to podiatry services, PACT is commonly used to treat fungal nail infections. The benefit of using PACT, as compared to other ways of treating fungal nail infections, is that it doesn't affect the surrounding tissue or skin and to date, there have been no negative side effects of using the treatment.

Swift Therapy

At The Feet People we use swift therapy to eliminate warts and verrucas. Swift therapy works by target the specific wart or verruca with low-dose microwave energy. This energy stimulates an immune response in the body that fights the HPV virus. We can treat warts anywhere above the elbows on the body with swift therapy but we commonly use it on plantar warts which usually occur on the feet.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment that's performed by specialists that involves inserting tiny needles into an area to help treat pain. The pain is alleviated because the needles are placed to hit trigger points, these needles can directly reduce pain and increase mobility in the area.

Custom Orthotics

Pain in the foot is commonly caused by incorrect foot alignment, which can affect movement. Custom orthotics are designed to personally address the issues with a patient's alignment and to correct it. Our podiatry doctors will study and scan your feet to detect the specific issues you're experiencing and build orthotics that are custom designed to address the problem. While you can buy orthotics off the rack, they probably won't address your exact issue, so if you're based in QLD, orthotics can be custom-made at our clinics.

Diabetic Foot Care

Unfortunately, diabetes can create a wealth of health problems. Some of these include poor blood circulation and nerve damage in the feet. Another serious complication of diabetes is diabetic ulcers which are wounds that can occur on the feet. Diabetic ulcers can be etremely dangerous. If you've got diabetes and feel discomfort or pain in your lower limbs, it's best to get a podiatry check up.

Foot Care

We offer our patients a range of foot care options for nail conditions, like ingrown or fungal toenails and common skin conditions like corns, callous, warts, psoriasis, cracked heels and Athletes foot.

Foot Care Products

We offer a wide variety of foot care products to look after your feet and to help with footwear fitting such as The Well Heeled range, Callusan skin hydration, nail care and beauty products from Dr Remedy, anti-inflammatory products for tired achy muscles and joints like Fisiocrem, anti-fungal skin treatments.

All of our practitioners are registered with the podiatry board of Australia which is administered by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
