Our Coorparoo Podiatrists Services

At The Feet People we treat a wide range of different conditions that are linked to the foot and ankle. Below are some of the podiatry services we offer.

Diabetic Foot Assessment

People who have diabetes are at a higher risk for foot problems than those who don't. That's why it's important for those with the condition to undergo a foot assessment. Nerve damage and poor circulation are two conditions that are commonly linked to diabetes. All our experienced podiatrists are trained in recognizing foot problems linked to diabetes and can help treat the condition accordingly.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is an excellent treatment to help patients who are experience pain in their lower limbs. The treatment works by using microneedles to target trigger points that can directly release the pain and discomfort located in the area.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non invasive treatment that's often used to help conditions of the feet and lower limbs. A condition that shockwave therapy is very commonly used for is chronic plantar fasciitis. Plantar Fasciitis is a condition that affects the plantar fascia, which is a long thin ligament that is located in the bottom of your foot. This treatment helps to remove pain by creating micro ruptures that encourage the cells to generate healing in the area.

PACT

PACT is a form of therapy where a beam of high wavelength light is used to target fungal toenail infections. The photosensitive agents are able to kill off the fungus without affecting the nail. Pact therapy may require a number of treatments, depending on the severity of the condition.

Swift Therapy

Swift therapy is a new and very effective treatment used for warts and verrucas. We are able to use swift therapy to eliminate warts anywhere on the body, however, we commonly use it to treat plantar warts. Plantar warts are very contagious and are usually located on feet. Swift therapy works by using low microwave energy to stimulate an immune system in the body that will work to eliminate the wart.

Custom Orthotics

Orthotics are shoe inserts that are designed to correct biomechanical foot issues, like incorrect alignment and they can be used to help alieve foot, heel, ankle, leg, and back pain. For maximum benefit from orthotics, it's best to have them custom shaped to rectify the specific problem you have. These inserts will slowly train your feet to align properly and help to correct related problems.
