Our Fairfield Podiatrists Services

At The Feet People we treat a wide range of different conditions that are linked to the foot and ankle. Below are some of the podiatry services we offer.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is used to stimulate the body's natural healing process by encouraging it to create collagen through the use of energy waves. It's a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves on injured tissues. This treatment causes inflammation in the body and the body will naturally react by trying to repair the affected cells.

PACT

PACT is Photodynamic Antimicrobial Therapy, which is a machine that uses a form of light to destroy fungal infections in the nail tissue. The photosensitive agents within the light produce an energy transfer and local chemical effect. As a result, fungal infections are killed off without the nail being affected.

Swift Therapy

Swift therapy is an effective treatment used to kill off warts, especially plantar warts which commonly occur on the foot. Podiatrists use swift therapy to send a direct microwave signal to a pre-determined depth so that the wart can be killed off but the surrounding skin and tissues won't be affected. Rather than burning off the wart, Swift therapy causes the wart tissue to elicit an immune response from the body, to fight the virus and eradicate the wart.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment performed by specialists to help with the treatment of pain and movement impairments. During the process, practitioners place microneedles in your trigger points to help alleviate pain and to improve movement impairments.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics are personally shaped shoe inserts used to correct foot and ankle alignment and are custom-made by a podiatrist. Flat feet is one of the conditions custom orthotics are commonly used to correct. Flat feet is when the arches of your feet are naturally flattened and the sole touches the ground, which causes inadequate support and poor posture. Our podiatrists will perform a biomechanical assessment to study your foot and lower limbs, then take digital 3-D scans so that they can personally prescribe orthotics that can help correct your specific problem.

Diabetic Foot Assessment

Most people are familiar with diabetes, but did you know it can actually cause foot problems? Diabetes can cause nerve damage that results in peripheral neuropathy and poor blood supply & circulation. Both of these scenarios can lead to ulcerations and complex health complications. As part of our diabetic assessment, we offer a in shoe pressure analysis to ensure we reduce the risk of ulcerations. We want the best for our patients so adding in shoe pressure analysis is what makes our diabetic assessment stand out from any other podiatrist. Our diabetic foot treatment plan is based on the latest research and diabetic foot care standards. Ulcerations and amputations can have devastating impacts to quality of life. Prevent is better than a cure.

Foot Care

We offer our patients a range of foot care options for nail conditions, like ingrown or fungal toenails and common skin conditions like corns, callous, cracked heels, warts, psoriasis, and Athletes foot.

Foot Care Products

We offer a wide variety of foot care products to help with footwear fitting such as The Well Heeled range, Callusan skin hydration, nail care and beauty products from Dr Remedy, anti-inflammatory products for tired achy muscles and joints like Fisiocrem, anti-fungal skin treatments.

Registered Practitioners

All of our practitioners are registered with the podiatry board of Australia which is administered by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
