Our Indooroopilly Podiatry Services

At The Feet People, we treat a wide range of different conditions that are linked to the feet, ankle and lower limbs. Below are some of the podiatry services we offer.

Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes is a serious health condition and can cause nerve damage that results in peripheral neuropathy and diabetic ulcers. If you experience complications from diabetes like diabetic ulcers, your health could be at serious risk. Our podiatrists are trained in treating and recognizing foot problems that are related to diabetes.

Dry Needling

If you're experiencing pain in your feet or lower limbs, then dry needling can be a great treatment to help alleviate it. Dry needling is done by a specialistt and is the act of placing tiny needs into areas that are identified as pressure points. When these pressure points are stimulated, they can help the treatment of pain and aid movement impairments.

Swift Therapy

Swift therapy is a very effective treatment for warts. While we can use it anywhere on the body (from the elbows down) that a wart forms, and we commonly use it to destroy plantar warts. Plantar warts are extremely contagious and usually occur on the feet. Swift therapy is a handheld device that delivers microwave signals to a predetermined depth to eradicate the wart. These signals help the body to generate an immune response to fight off the virus.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a treatment modality that's used to treat ailments that need a repair boost or pain relief. At The Feet People, we use it to help with many feet conditions, including plantar fasciitis and achilles tendonitis. Shockwave therapy works by sending acoustic waves to the injured tissue, that encourages the body's natural response to heal and repair the area.

PACT

PACT is a method that works to treat fungal infections. At The Feet People, we commonly use it on fungal toe infections. Fungal toe infections are a common infection where a fungus grows beneath the toenail, usually the big toenail. A severe infection can cause permanent damage to your toenail, and can cause complicated health problems if you have diabetes. PACT treats the infection by using a light with photosensitive agents to destroy it, without causing damage to surrounding cells and tissues.

Custom Foot Orthotics

When the alignment in the foot is incorrect, it can cause pain, mobility problems and posture issues. Custom orthotics work to correct this misalignment, sometimes known as poor foot mechanics. Our podiatry team specialises in identifying the alignment issue, and custom designing orthotics to correct it. To recognize the issue our foot doctor with conduct an examination of your feet and a gait scan. From here they will work to create orthotics that will aim to correct the problem.

Foot Care

We offer our patients a range of foot care options for nail conditions, like ingrown or fungal toenails and common skin conditions like psoriasis, Athletes foot, corns, callous, cracked heel and warts.

We offer a wide variety of foot care products to help with footwear fitting such as The Well Heeled range, Callusan skin hydration, nail care and beauty products from Dr Remedy, anti-inflammatory products for tired achy muscles and joints like Fisiocrem, anti-fungal skin treatments.
