At The Feet People, we commonly service conditions like degenerated tendons (Achilles tendinitis and heel pain (plantar fasciitis) in patients with shockwave therapy. It is a non-invasive treatment that delivers acoustic waves to injured tissue via a handheld probe. These energy waves create micro ruptures that enhance blood flow and stimulate the body's healing response. As a result of this treatment, your body will work to heal injured tissue itself.
Dry needling can help with pain relief in the feet and lower legs, and encourage injured tissue to heal itself by increasing blood flow to the site. The process involves inserting tiny needles into trigger points in the muscles, commonly known as "muscle knots". These needles are very gently moved up and down, causing tight muscles to twitch and then relax. The relaxation leads to the release of pressure, increased mobility and decreased pain.
PACT is a highly effective treatment that works to eradicate fungal nail infections. It's a revolutionary treatment that sends high beam LED light to the affected area. This light attacks the fungal infection and kills off the virus. One of the big advantages of using PACT therapy on fungal infections, as compared to creams or laser treatments is that it doesn't damage the nail, cells or tissues surrounding the fungus. Fungal nail infections can be unsightly and normally occur on toes, however, they can occasionally occur on fingernails too.
Swift Therapy is a safe and effective treatment used to eradicate warts. The older method of freezing off warts can be painful and ineffective, and it can damage the surrounding skin and tissue. Swift therapy is very different in the sense that it sends microwave energy to the root of the wart, encouraging the body to create an immune response that fights off the HPV virus that creates the wart.
Custom orthotics are shoe inserts that are used to correct biomechanical foot issues. These issues can lead to poor posture, mobility problems and foot pain. In an appointment, our podiatrist will conduct 3-D scans to correctly detect your issues, as well as undertake a full foot and lower limb assessment. Then will then shape custom orthotics to correct your specific problem.
Diabetes can cause poor circulation and blood floor, which can lead to diabetic ulcers on the feet. These ulcers can be very dangerous if they're not treated, and in extreme cases amputation can be required when they are ignored. So, if you have diabetes it's important to schedule a regular check-up at a podiatrist practice. During this appointment, a podiatrist will assess any warning signs, or the ulcers themselves if they are evident, and suggest the best treatment or prevention.
As well as treating serious conditions, we also offer general foot treatment. We can perform a range of podiatry services options for nail conditions, like ingrown or fungal toenails and common skin conditions like corns, callous, cracked heels, warts, psoriasis, and Athletes foot.
Taking care of your feet after your podiatry appointment is important! We offer a wide variety of foot products to help our patients with footwear fitting such as The Well Heeled range, Callusan skin hydration, nail care and beauty products from Dr Remedy, anti-inflammatory products for tired achy muscles and joints like Fisiocrem, anti-fungal skin treatments.
All of our practitioners have a bachelor in podiatry and are registered with the Australian podiatry association which is administered by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
