Our Toowong Podiatry Services

At The Feet People we treat a wide range of different conditions that are linked to the feet, ankle and lower limbs. Below are some of the podiatry services we offer.

PACT

PACT therapy is used to treat fungal infections, at The Feet People we usually use it to treat fungal nail infections. The innovative treatment is very popular because it targets only the fungal infection, and won't have any negative effect on the surrounding tissues or skin. PACT can help patients avoid invasive and painful nail surgery.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves the insertion of tiny needles into precise points that can help reduce pain and increase mobility in the area. These needles are placed into trigger points that are found in muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. The insertion of these needles can help to quickly ease tight, painful knots in patient's muscles, providing foot or lower leg pain relief.

Custom Foot Orthotics

Custom foot orthotics are specially designed shoe inserts that can correct misalignment or deformities in the feet. Our podiatry team are specialists in building orthotics that can correct a patient's specific foot problem. They will personally undertake a gait analysis and assess their foot positioning, before tailor-making orthotics designed to correct the problem.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy has many benefits, including reducing foot pain, resetting the inflammation cycle, stimulating collagen production, promoting blood vessel formation and releasing trigger points. The treatment is done by sending energy acoustic waves to the affected area. These acoustic waves stimulate a healing and repair response in the area they're used. At The Feet People we generally use Shockwave therapy to help plantar fasciitis, shin splints, Achilles tendinopathy as well as many other lower limb conditions.

Swift Therapy

Swift Therapy is used to kill warts or verrucas by stimulating an immune response that fights off the HPV virus that causes the legions. It's FDA cleared and has a high success rate of eliminating warts or verrucas. It works by delivering microwave energy waves that are delivered through a special probe placed on the skin, these waves help to generate the immune response. We can use swift therapy on warts located anywhere on the body (below the elbows), but our podiatry team often use it on plantar warts, which tend to appear on the feet.

Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes is commonly linked to poor blood circulation and nerve damage, both of which can play an integral part in the health of the feet and lower limbs. If a patient with diabetes has any pain or discomfort in their feet, they should book in for a check-up with our podiatry team. Diabetic ulcers are a very serious complication of diabetes.. If symptoms aren't recognized and treated quickly, they can cause very serious and dangerous health problems down the track.

Foot Care

We offer our patients a range of foot care options for nail conditions, like ingrown or fungal toenails and common skin conditions like corns, callous, cracked heels, psoriasis, warts, and Athletes foot.

Foot Care Products

Foot products are a lot cheaper than treatment and may help you prolong time between appointments. We offer a wide variety of foot care products to help with footwear fitting such as The Well Heeled range, Callusan skin hydration, nail care and beauty products from Dr Remedy, anti-inflammatory products for tired achy muscles and joints like Fisiocrem, anti-fungal skin treatments.

Registered Practitioners

All of our practitioners are registered with the podiatry board of Australia which is administered by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
