At The Feet People, we treat a wide range of different conditions that are linked to the foot and ankle. Below are some of the podiatry services we offer.
Orthotics are custom-fitted shoe inserts that work to correct the alignment in feet. When feet are misaligned, they can create walking problems, as well as pain in the feet, knees, legs, hips and/ or back. At our private practice, our podiatrists are extensively trained in shaping and creating orthotics that can correct misalignment in patient's feet.
Diabetes is commonly linked to high blood pressure and nerve damage, and poor circulation can be an effect of the disease. Diabetic ulcers can cause as a complication of poor circulation and can have devastating health affects. So, it's important to have your feet assessed regularly if you suffer from diabetes. So, should any condition arise, you can have it treated quickly by our skilled podiatrists.
Dry needling is a treatment that can help ease pain and encourage healing. While it can be used in many different places on the body, at The Feet People we use it on patient's feet and lower limbs. Dry needling involves inserting micro needles into trigger points (muscle knots). The insertion of these needles can help release tension, resulting in pain relief and increased mobility.
If a patient is suffering from foot, heel, ankle or lower leg pain, Shockwave therapy may be able to help. It's an innovative treatment that delivers energy waves to the surface of the skin that travels down to injured cells or tissues. These waves create micro-ruptures of tiny blood vessels in the tissues which encourages the bodies healing response in that specific area.
PACT therapy is a fairly new and revolutionary treatment for fungal infections with excellent proven results. At The Feet People we commonly used it to treat fungal nail infections which usually occur in the big toe. This therapy delivers a beam of high wavelength light to the infected area to kill off the fungus, without affecting the surrounding tissue.
Swift therapy is used to fight off warts and verrucas. At The Feet People, we can administer swift therapy on warts anywhere from the elbows down, but it's popularly used to fight off plantar warts on the feet. Swift therapy works by sending microwave energy through a probe that's applied to the skin. This microwave energy initiates an immune response in the body that works to kill off HPV, the virus that creates warts.
We offer our patients a range of foot care options for nail conditions, like ingrown or fungal toenails and common skin conditions like psoriasis, corns, callous, cracked heels, warts, and Athletes foot.
After an appointment, you should continue to take care of your feet. We offer a wide variety of foot care products to help with footwear fitting such as The Well Heeled range, Callusan skin hydration, nail care and beauty products from Dr Remedy, anti-inflammatory products for tired achy muscles and joints like Fisiocrem, anti-fungal skin treatments.
All of our practitioners are registered with the podiatry board of Australia which is administered by Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
