COVID-19 Safety Precautions at The Feet People
At The Feet People, the safety and well-being of our clients, visitors, and staff remain our highest priority. Although
Queensland no longer has active public health directions for COVID-19, we continue to follow the latest Queensland Health
guidance and national health advice to maintain a safe environment.
What Queensland Health Recommends (2025)
- Queensland Health no longer mandates home isolation when testing positive.
-
However, they strongly recommend that if you have symptoms of an acute respiratory infection or test positive for COVID-19,
you:
-
Stay home while you are infectious and until your symptoms have largely improved, and you’ve been fever-free for at least 24 hours
(without using fever-reducing medications)
-
Avoid entering high-risk settings (hospitals, aged care, disability accommodation) for at least 5 days from symptom onset or positive test
(whichever is earlier)
-
Wear a face mask in indoor settings (outside the home) or when physical distancing isn’t possible, for up to 5 days following onset or test
- Some high-risk settings or private operators may impose additional requirements; Queensland Health advises complying with those.
-
Vaccination and boosters continue to be important protection: all adults are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine every 12 months, with those
aged 75+ recommended to receive a dose every 6 months.
- Booster doses are free, and everyone is encouraged to stay up to date with their vaccination schedule.
Revised Precautions at The Feet People
Below is our updated clinic-specific policy, reflecting current public health advice and our commitment to your safety:
If You Feel Unwell, Test Positive, or Are a Close Contact
-
If you have COVID-19 symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue) or symptoms of an acute
respiratory infection, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
-
If you test positive for COVID-19, we encourage you to delay your appointment until your symptoms have improved and you
have been fever-free for at least 24 hours.
-
During your first 5 days after symptom onset or a positive test, please wear a mask in indoor settings (including our
clinic) if you do attend, and avoid entering high-risk environments if possible.
- If you are a close contact, monitor for symptoms, wear a mask indoors, and seek testing if symptoms develop.
Clinic & Service Measures
To reduce infection risk, The Feet People maintains the following controls:
- By appointment only — no walk-ins accepted.
- Pre-appointment screening (via phone or digital form) to check for symptoms or exposures.
- Staggered scheduling to limit overlap of clients.
- Contactless procedures — digital check-ins, online forms, and card / contactless payments (no cash).
- Hand sanitiser / disinfectant gel provided throughout the clinic.
- Enhanced and frequent cleaning & disinfection of rooms and high-touch surfaces.
- Removal of shared items (magazines, brochures) in waiting areas.
- Ventilation / air quality measures wherever possible (e.g. open windows, air purifiers).
- Telehealth / remote consultations offered when clinically appropriate.
- Staff use PPE and follow infection prevention protocols consistent with Queensland Health guidance.
Clinic Access & Flow
- Only clients with scheduled appointments and essential staff may enter the facility.
- One support person may accompany clients who require assistance (e.g. children, mobility support).
- Signage indicates safe occupancy, pathways, and distancing measures.
- Seating in waiting rooms is arranged to maintain physical distance.
On Arrival
- You may be asked to complete a health declaration / screening (symptom check, recent exposure, travel).
- Please sanitise your hands on entry and exit.
- Masks may be required (especially if you are symptomatic or within your mask-recommendation period).
Vaccination & Boosters
At The Feet People, we strongly support staying current with COVID-19 vaccination. In 2025:
- Adults can receive a COVID-19 vaccine every 12 months; adults 75+ are recommended to receive a booster every 6 months.
- COVID-19 vaccines can be co-administered with other recommended vaccines (e.g. influenza).
- Even if you've had COVID-19, vaccination remains recommended.
Review & Updates
We will continue to review and update our precautions in line with the latest advice from Queensland Health and national public health
authorities. Any changes in regulations or health advice will be promptly reflected in our policies and on this page.
