The Feet People are a registered NDIS provider of podiatry and foot care services for participants in the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

What is the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a government initiative that provides support to people living with a permanent and significant disability, along with their families and carers. It helps eligible Australians under the age of 65 access the services and supports they need to improve independence, health, and wellbeing.

How We Support NDIS Participants

Important NDIS Updates

On 3 October 2024, the NDIS Amendment (Getting the NDIS Back on Track) Act 2024 came into effect. This introduced a formal definition of “NDIS supports” under the law.

Only services, goods, or items listed as approved NDIS supports (or substituted under special rules) can be funded.
Any items defined as non-NDIS supports cannot be claimed under a participant’s plan.
The NDIS regularly updates the Support Catalogue and Pricing Arrangements & Price Limits.

As of 1 July 2025, the latest NDIS Pricing Arrangements & Price Limits 2025–26 apply. Participants and providers must use this document to confirm which supports are covered and the maximum rates that apply.

What This Means for You

Reasonable & Necessary: All podiatry services we provide must meet the NDIS’s “reasonable and necessary” criteria to be claimable under your plan.
Funding Types:
- NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants: services must be delivered in line with NDIS price limits.
- Self-managed participants: have flexibility to negotiate service fees outside of NDIS price limits.
Service Agreement: Before we begin services, we will establish a clear written agreement with you. This outlines the supports provided, associated costs, and your rights and responsibilities.

How do I start?

To arrange a visit with us, simply fill out our NDIS referral form. We’ll collect the necessary details to confirm your eligibility, book your appointment, and set up a service agreement.

I do not use NDIS funding but think I am eligible, what should I do?

You can check your eligibility by visiting the official NDIS website. If eligible, you can then apply to become an NDIS participant and access supports like podiatry.

What are the costs involved?

The NDIS sets maximum price limits in its Pricing Arrangements & Price Limits 2025–26 (effective 1 July 2025). Currently, the maximum rate for podiatry is $188.99 per hour. We bill according to your appointment length (e.g. a 30-minute appointment is billed at $94.50).

NDIA-managed & Plan-managed participants: capped at the NDIS price limits.
Self-managed participants: may choose to pay above the capped rates, if agreed.

Do you charge by the hour or by appointment?

We charge according to the time we spend with you, and most appointments are booked for a set duration. For example:

A Biomechanical Assessment is booked for 60 minutes.
A Dermatological appointment is typically 20 minutes.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment (usually 60 minutes) includes a full assessment by one of our podiatrists. We’ll determine the best treatment pathway and may also provide foot hygiene training for you, your family, or support workers. To get the most out of this session, note down your main foot health concerns beforehand.

Can you help me with my NDIS plan review?

Yes. Our podiatrists can prepare reports and recommendations (if required) to support your plan review. These reports may influence the allocation of podiatry funding in your next NDIS plan.

Do you need to see my plan?

We don’t need to see your plan to provide podiatry care. However, sharing relevant details may help us align services with your goals. The essential information we need is included in our NDIS referral form.

I am self managed - how does that work?

If you are self-managed, you pay for your appointment on the day. You then claim the cost back from the NDIS. The reimbursement is managed directly between you and the NDIS.

Will you report to my plan manager about on going treatment?

Yes. With your consent, our podiatrists will share reports with your plan manager about your treatment progress. Reports are typically provided at the end of treatment blocks or near your plan review date.
