Lawrence Taufahema

Lawrence, the founder of The Feet People, embarked on his podiatry journey in 2012, bringing with him an array of experience from private practice, sports podiatry clinics, orthotic laboratories, community and aged care settings. Lawrence’s experiences span across multiple cities such as Brisbane, Toowoomba, and Melbourne. As a leader, he is committed to fostering the professional growth of his team, guiding them towards achieving their full potential.

Lawrence's journey into podiatry was born out of a personal experience during his teenage years, where he faced growing pains and flat feet. The remarkable impact of orthotics, exercise prescription, and the right footwear on his condition inspired him to delve into podiatry, with the aim of helping others walk and exercise without pain.

In his role as a podiatrist, Lawrence has cultivated special interests in several areas, such as falls prevention for the elderly, treating musculoskeletal condition-related pain, and improving the mobility of those with neurological or orthopedic conditions. He integrates ankle foot orthotics, modified footwear, and custom footwear in his treatment plans to achieve these goals.

Lawrence is at the forefront of his profession, implementing falls prevention programs that not only transform the lives of his patients but also drive the progress of the profession. His commitment to personal and professional development extends to his team as he continuously motivates them to enhance their skills and expertise.

Outside of his professional life, Lawrence is an accomplished weightlifter, having won the U16 and U18 QLD Weightlifting Champion title in 2003. His other interests include skiing, social cycling, travelling, and self-development as a leader. He cherishes spending time with his family and friends, including his Cavoodle and two young daughters.

A seasoned speaker, Lawrence has shared his expertise at numerous conferences and workshops across Australia and online platforms. He has presented at The Australian Podiatry Association, the Australian Sonographers Association, and the Hive Business Coaching. Furthermore, he regularly provides valuable insights to medical practices within the local community.
