Lawrence Taufahema

Lawrence founded The Feet People in 2012 after many years of experience working in private practice, sports podiatry clinics, footwear stores, orthotic laboratories and community and aged care settings in Brisbane, Toowoomba and Melbourne.

Lawrence became a podiatrist to help people and believes that this is the core purpose of his life. He was first exposed to podiatry as a teenager when the local podiatrist helped with his growing pains and flat feet. Lawrence was amazed at how orthotics & exercises improved his issues and thought that he would love to learn how to help other people walk & exercise without pain.

As a podiatrist, Lawrence has a special interest in treating children, lower limb pain associated with musculoskeletal conditions, sports injury rehabilitation, neurological conditions that affect mobility, and fitting ski boots with custom footbeds/orthotics.

He is currently leading the profession in clinically implementing falls prevention programs that are changing the lives of our patients, while also pushing the profession forward. As well as this, he spends his time leading his team to grow and be the best version of themselves. A fun fact about Lawrence, he was the U16 and U18 QLD Weightlifting Champion in 2003. In his spare time, Lawrence keeps fit with regular cardiovascular and weights training, travelling, skiing, developing himself as a leader, and spending time with his family and friends (including his Cavoodle, Lola, and young daughters, Grace and Ella) — we honestly don’t know where he finds the time.

A seasoned speaker, Lawrence has shared his expertise at numerous conferences and workshops across Australia and online platforms. He has presented at The Australian Podiatry Association, the Australian Sonographers Association, and the Hive Business Coaching. Furthermore, he regularly provides valuable insights to medical practices within the local community.
